FAQs

What is Made-to-Measure?

With most wedding dress shops, wedding dresses are ordered closest to your measurements and additional alterations are required to have the dress fitted to your body. This can alter the style of the dress, and the resulting fit isn’t always what you may have envisioned.

How are Grace + Ivory dresses different? Every dress with Grace + Ivory is custom sewn to your measurements. We have a measurement guide that will show you how to take your correct measurements (you will need someone to help you) and you can contact us with any questions.

What do you mean by custom details?

All the dress designs offered can be customized in some ways, if you so desire. For example, perhaps you like one dress but envisioned a more open back. You can discuss with your design stylist and we can see if it can be done on the design you are looking at.

How long does a dress take?

We recommend ordering your dress 4-6 months before your wedding date. If you order too far in advance, your dress may not fit correctly. If you order with not enough time, you won’t have it on time for the big day!

Do you ship internationally?

At this time we only ship to addresses within the United States (all 50 states, including Hawaii and Alaska) and Canada.

What if I need alterations?

As women for women, we get it; we lose weight, we gain weight, and this can be a big worry for your big day. We will make your dress exactly to the measurements you provide. More so, each dress is made with two inches on each side in order for you to take it out if needed.

Our design stylist will also work with all brides to find the tailor/seamstress they need to perform minor alterations and/or add a bustle. We have selected preferred tailors/seamstresses to work with in every major city, and will recommend them when needed. However, brides do not have to work with them.

Since each dress is custom made, there should only be minor alterations or a final fitting, if any. If there are additional concerns, we will provide up to a $100.00 alterations credit for anything beyond taking in or out a seam, and/or shortening a hem (we make your dress length based on the information you provide: your height and the height of shoes).
