We know, we know - we've been trying really hard to not talk about it. The Covid-19 pandemic, that is. We've definitely been talking about try-at-home! It's been really weird not having our normal lives in 2020 - and it's really impacted how we shop for wedding dresses. But we're actually really glad that people are starting to latch onto try-at-home during covid!
Grace + Ivory's try-at-home wedding dress program was our flagship product before 2020 happened! But with the state of the world as it is, we thought we'd revisit why trying on your wedding dress at home is so great - especially during a global pandemic.
1. It's easier to shop for wedding dresses online if you live further away from a major city.
That's the beauty of ecommerce. If you're living in a more rural area, it's less likely that the closest town is going to have a bridal store with the styles you're looking for. When that's the case, you've got to trek to another city or nearby town to find your dream dress.
Since Grace + Ivory is an online business, you can see all of our dresses right on the website. All you have to do is select which dresses you want to try on, and we send them straight to your door! No long car trips, no public transport, and no Covid-19 exposure fears. You won't even need to wear a mask since you'll be trying your wedding dresses on in the comfort of your own home!
2. You'll be with people whose opinions you trust - not a pushy sales assistant!
This one isn't Covid-related, but it's still so true. One of the things that Grace + Ivory brides unanimously love about their try-at-home experience is the lack of sales assistants. There is no one there trying to push you into a game-time decision about your dress. You'll be with as many (or as few!) people as you want to be with - and they will all be people whose opinions you trust.
On top of that, you won't just have a single try-on before you decide. You get your Grace + Ivory sample dresses for three whole days! Have one try-on session. Have multiple try-on sessions! Try one dress on, and then come back to it for a second look. And a third.
3. You can avoid public places or virus hotspots.
If you or a loved one is a member of an at-risk group, you don't want to take any chances - especially now that flu season is here. But that doesn't mean you have to sacrifice your wedding dress try-on experience! Another great reason for try-at-home during covid is so that you don't have to worry about any sort of exposure. You won't need to go to any public places or come into contact with any strangers.
As case numbers go up, particularly in densely populated urban areas, it's understandable to be nervous about going into a city to do your shopping. Trying on your wedding dress at home means that you can shop for your bridal gown safely and without any risk of exposure.
4. You're in control - no strangers or unknown germs!
As we've said, cities are naturally home to more people - and more germs. When you go into a bridal shop, you can never be sure who else has been in there or where the shop assistants have been. Why worry? If you decide to try your dresses on at your own house, you know exactly who has been there - and you won't have to worry about getting hand sanitizer on the dresses!
Getting your Grace + Ivory dresses shipped straight to your door immediately takes all of the covid-induced anxiety out of the equation. We recommend that you have a friend or loved one there to help you in and out of the dresses (and for a second opinion!). This is made much easier when you and your friends can take the appropriate level of precautions in your home rather than in a public place.
5. FaceTiming is easier and more private when you're at home.
Our final reason to try-at-home during covid is connectivity! If a member or two of your dress shopping crew isn't able to travel to be there with you, FaceTime is a much better option in a place with stable internet. You know the reliable WiFi spots at home, and you can arrange accordingly. Also, it will be much more private without other shop patrons or assistants looking over your shoulder.
Even though hundreds of people will eventually see your dress, the process of actually choosing your bridal gown is extremely personal. Why should you have to do it with people who don't know your personal style and who are just trying to make a sale? When you get your Grace + Ivory dresses to try on at home, you can be completely in control of the experience. Try-at-home during covid and relax! No covid, no traveling, and no fuss required!
