Bridal accessories used to be limited to pretty much one thing: the wedding veil. Brides were deciding between chapel or cathedral length and opting for or against a blusher—and that was pretty much it.
My, how times have changed.
Now, it’s the dress accessories, bridal jewelry and wedding dress shoes for bride that make a look—which means finding your dress is only step one in the fashion journey (for better or for worse). This means that every look is highly personalized; one dress can be worn countless ways based on how it is accessorized. The right bridal cape or collar or sleeve—and yes, the veil—are what turn your perfect dress into a bridal moment, a moment that is entirely and uniquely your own.
Here, we break down the different types of finishing touches you can explore to complete your look.

Wedding Veils
The classic, never-going-out-of-style bridal accessory. But veils are far from one-style-fits all. There are varying lengths, from a short veil (also known as a fingertip veil) to cathedral-length; they can be plain or adorned veils (think lace and beading or a pearl veil); they can have blushers or not. At G+I, we can also create custom veils to coordinate seamlessly with the dress.

Sleeves & Blouses
Sleeves are a fun transitional element that gives the bride options to change up her look throughout the day. They’re as varied as veils: softly draped off she shoulder sleeves, detached long lace sleeves, gathered balloon sleeves. All add an element of whimsy.

Bolero for Wedding Dress
Similarly to sleeves and blouses, a lace bolero for wedding dress can transform your wedding day look; it is most traditionally worn during formal or religious ceremonies to cover the shoulders or add a level of modesty, then removed for the reception.

Scarves & Capes
If you aren’t feeling a veil, a white bridal cape or scarf is our favorite alternative. Both are less traditional than a head covering, but still add a level of drama for photos and that all-important walk down the aisle. Capes can attach at the shoulders or around the neck; the scarf can be worn a variety of ways.

If you can dream it, we can create it—and trust us, we’ve seen it all. Imagine a tulle collar atop a strapless sweetheart dress, a lace jacket, a tulle capelet, a cultural accessory or addition that brings your look to life. We love collaborating with brides on the perfect finishing touches to make the look their own.
