With so much time and energy spent selecting your wedding dress, it's no wonder many brides struggle with the finishing touches. We chatted with Mariya from Aventine Jewelry to learn a little more about the brand, including tips on how to select your bridal jewelry for your wedding gown. Since different necklines, wedding aesthetics, budget and personal style all play a part in selecting what pieces you'll don for your wedding day look...we welcomed some expert advice.
About Aventine
A year after establishing Aventine, Mariya launched the bridal capsule collection in the early months of 2022. "My passion for all things wedding-related runs deep," she spoke on being a professional wedding photographer for several years prior to the 2020 pandemic. "I have always believed that as a creative, you naturally gravitate toward different forms of art and various mediums through which to convey your unique perspective and vision."

The bridal collection, which features many 14k gold-filled and fresh-water pearl adorned pieces, is hand-crafted in Pennsylvania. Mariya says she is "naturally drawn to the enchantment and romance of weddings and a strong desire to create empowering jewelry." With the brand focusing on luxe handcrafted jewelry pieces designed to mirror your soul, we'd say she does just that!
When asked more about the inspiration behind starting the bridal collection, Mariya said "I saw an opportunity to infuse my pieces with a more unconventional and authentic aesthetic, setting them apart from the traditional bridal mainstream designs. I wanted to create pieces that ignited a flame within each lovely bride's soul and allowed her to confidently embody her most authentic and empowered self on her special day."
How should a bride go about selecting a piece they may wear for their wedding day?
Here are also some basic guidelines for selecting jewelry for your big day based on your wedding vision and dress silhouette
1. Jewelry suited for your wedding vision and dress look:
- Modern: Opt for styles with curved geometric shapes and unique pearls such as baroque pearls.
- Classic: Choose timeless designs with classic shapes, clean lines and sophisticated components such as simple pearl studs or gold pearl huggies.
- Romantic Whimsical: Opt for dreamy styles that have movement or floral components. Designs that drape and sway beautifully.
- Alternative: More layering and stacking of necklaces and bracelets for non-traditional brides! Opt for styles with non-traditional components and colorful gemstones.
- Bohemian: Choose tassels, fringe and statement pieces - embracing the drama and the freeing swaying movement of such designs. Enhance your bohemian goddess with a forehead chain drape.
- Vintage: Opt for dainty designs with pearls that can pair wonderfully with lace fabrics.
- Glam: More drama and sparkle! Select designs that are of larger scale with lots of gold and silver.
- Art Deco: Opt for dainty or bold styles with sharp geometric shapes and sparkling gemstones.
2. Pick the best jewelry for your dress neckline/silhouette:
- If your gown has a high necklace, a one-shoulder neckline or a halter neckline - opt for statement earrings and a few stacked bracelets. With a high neckline, less is more! The high neckline draws the eye towards the bold earring, creating a captivating and sophisticated look that is sure to make a statement.
- If your dress has a strapless or sweetheart neckline, a choker or a floating necklace can look lovely with bare shoulders paired with small scale earrings. You can also forego the necklace and choose extra long drop earrings to compliment the shoulders and strapless silhouette and add some extra sparkle with an elegant hand chain bracelet.
- If your gown has a standard or deep front v-neck, choosing a long lariat necklace can accentuate the flattering shape of the neckline and also make you look taller.
- Don’t forget about your accessorizing your fingers and hands! You might not want to stack a bunch of non-wedding rings on your big day, but adding a touch of sparkle to your fingers can add a touch of glam to your overall look. If your dress has extra long flared or winged sleeves, accessorize with a hand chain. Hand chains look gorgeous in photos when your hand is elevated and the elongated sleeve is draping beautifully.
- If your dress is a midi or mini style, accessorize those ankles! Pearl anklets pair beautifully with dressy pumps or casual sandals.

For The Simple & Classic Bride
If you're a bride that describes their bridal stye as simple and classic, you likely want your bridal jewelry to enhance your wedding gown without pulling focus. You want something dainty and timeless, perhaps a piece you could re-wear for events to come.
We've paired Aventine's 14k Gold Filled Dainty Luxe Drop Earrings with our ever-classic Tabitha dress. A dainty drop earring will accentuate a deep-v neckline, especially if you're leaning towards a wispy updo.

For The Cool & Modern Bride
If your bridal style leans more cool and modern, it's likely you want your wedding earring to feel like an elevated everyday. That's exactly how we would describe Aventine's Huggie Pearl Hoop Earrings.
We've paired this lightweight piece with Grace + Ivory's Jessie Dress. We love the clean lines on Jessie combined with the sophisticated yet fun look of the cluster freshwater pearls.

For The Art-Deco Bride
Art-Deco bridal gowns and jewelry have been trending for the past few wedding seasons. With good reason, since many brides vibe with more geometric and fringy details over a traditional floral lace.
If the above speaks to your soul, you'll love Aventine's White Pearl Cluster Fringe Earrings paired with Grace + Ivory's Kali Dress. These fun and vintage-inspired earrings offer some beautiful movement while enhancing an already unique bridal gown. You do not have to go simple just because your dress is that moment!
For The Elegant Statement Bride
If you're a bride who plans to style your wedding dress to perfection, you may be on the lookout for a detailed statement earring. Especially if your wedding dress leans more understated than maximalist, opting for a wow-factor earring can infuse a lot of your personal style into the overall look...and make for some great bridal portraits!
We've paired Aventine's 14k Gold Filled Statement Freshwater Pearl Earrings with our elegant Vita dress. With an off-the-shoulder neckline that requires no necklace...a dramatic earring can really set your styling apart.

For The Non-Traditional Bride
The non-traditional bride demands a non-traditional accessory! That's why we are loving a versatile piece that allows for 2 looks in 1...Aventine's Convertible Wrap Pearl Bracelet Neckline.
Wear it as a layered bracelet or keep it classic as a pearl necklace, either way we want to see it paired with our Tristan jumpsuit. We could also see this pairing being a fun rehearsal dinner look.
